Leahism on Interpals

Since when do I like penpals? Since I sat in elementary school. Penpals or sahabat pena in Indonesian is one of my favorite things to do. Knowing people or having a new friend through writing letters or sending e-mails nowadays.

Lately I know Interpals from one of my Dutch tandem friends. Right after he had mentioned it, I signed up. I thought that it was a good site to refresh my memory about penpals. Hiep hiep hurrah!!!

Few days ago, I chatted with my fiance on FaceTime. The conversation as follows:
F: What are you doing?
L: Uploading some more pictures for my profile on Interpals. TO SEDUCE MEN THERE!
F: Waaaat? Hoezo? (What? Why? What do you mean?)
L: Because none of those girls on Interpals replied my messages. Except a Dutch girl who contacted me for the first time offering a help for my Dutch.

On this site, what I think ridiculous is the comment givers of a pictures. I saw that all of the them are women if the picture's owner is a man, vice versa. The comments are also I think quite standard and too much for just a normal picture.

Well, just like what one of my penpals said "Niks is waterdicht". Nothing is perfect. There's always a lack. Also on Interpals.

Bruno Mars - Marry You

Hmmm... I'm tired preparing my thesis exam. I just finished making Powerpoint for the presentation. So, I decided to surf on Youtube. I watched the videos I made, but then I read "Bruno Mars - Marry You" there.
"Hmmm... Lets see this video with lyric as I don't know the lyric much," I talked to myself. So, I thought lets sing it. Karaoke!

But then I read another tittle "Bruno Mars - Marry You (Official Music Video)". So, I thought (again) lets see it as I've never watched the official one before.

I realize that it's not the official one. It's more than that. Wait! It's wedding proposal! Ough so cute!! Then, I thought (double again) lets browse another wedding proposal videos with Bruno Mars. I think it will be cute.

This is the second video I watched. Nicer. Warmer as he uses many family members inside. Parents. Uncle-Aunt, Friends. Etc...

The third video is owesome too. The video is quite good quality. The people also dressed nice.

The fourth video is a wedding proposal with flash mob style. Flash mob. I knew this word for the first time in 2009/2010 from a friend of mine in Depok. So, I thought lets see it. Well, it's not bad.

Finally, the last video is with a tittle "Best Marriage Proposal Ever". I talked to myself, "Lets see how best it is." But this time, there's no Bruno's song there.

Oh, all of them are cute and romantic. What I learn from those videos is "My Boyf won't do such thing like that. He can't sing, he can't dance, he has no a lot of friends. I even blacklist one of his friends in my wedding party."

My best person, Mama Sonja, mentioned ".... But I think your boyfriend loves you with his full heart .... He drives you to every where .... Even to heavem ...."

While my Boyf said, "At least I make you a breakfast always in the weekend, I brought a glass of water for you in the middle of the night when you were thirsty, I drove you to Franeker from Gilze, go and back..."

I mumbled, ".... I accept you as you are, Cinta. I'm just jealous with those lucky girls :D"

Quote from "Brave"

Some say fate is beyond our command, but I know better. Our destiny is within us. You just have to be brave enough to see it.
Merida - Brave

I watched this movie in the evening of my 26th years birthday. I watched it together with my close girl friend. I knew this movie for the first time when I was in Europe last August, but I just saw it this month. I have this movie for my little pijama party. As, my girl friend is a calm girl, I don't think so an action movie is a good option for us even I love to watch it. But, nah! Then, animation movie is the best. And I was right. She would love to watch it. Brave.
I like what Merida said there. And I agree: We just have to be brave enough to see it. To see our destiny. Sometimes, we are afraid what we wanna have, what we wanna face, what we wanna be. But of course it's not an option. Like or not, we will see it and find it out soon or later. So, this movie encourage me more. No matter what happen later, we just need to be optimistic and do the best as we can.
I also like a scene where Merida's mother changed become a human again after she's spelled to become a bear.
Merida: You changed!
Mother: We both have!
I think it's quite a strong answer from her mother. If you have watched the movie, I think you know what I mean here. And for me, sometimes change is indeed good. I'm change from time to time. To be better, to learn the life...

Zero October. Lazy or Busy?

No posting in October. On that time I was quite busy with thesis, gathering datas and writing everyday in the weekdays. Writing blog is indeed for free person. What I realized, every time I wanted to write something on my blog, always there was a saying "Later...". Or even I forgot about my blog. Indeed there was no time for it, even to write one single short post. Lazy and busy are sometimes ambiguous. The difference is thin like a paper.

A Ghost Corrects My English

This post is made because of Barbecue or Barbeque?. When I posted the posting, it reminds me with one of my housemates who always corrected my English but until now I don't know him/her. At home, I was the only one who pasted a printed saying or command on the wall. The next day or a few days after I pasted the writing, there was an added writing by hand correcting my English or a comment about it. I wrote such as, "Don't throw away the tissue into the closet!" Then there was a saying "if you don't want your clothes smelly." At the beginning, I didn't understand. What is the connection between closet and clothes? Then I just laughed. In Indonesian, we mentioned "kloset" refers to "toilet" (in English). In other hand, most Indonesian mention "toilet" (in Indonesian) refers to "rest room". So, I thought "kloset" is from English, that's why I wrote "closet". But I didn't realize whether closet means "cupboard" or "lemari" (in Indonesian). Oh, stupid of me!!!

Another time, I wrote "So, somebody else don't see your shit." for another writing. Again, there was someone who corrected it. He/she wrote "doesn't. Somebody is singular." I just smiled reading the comment. The fact, I was glad there was someone who cared about me and put attention on me. It means I am still exist. hohoho... But then the funny is, the person who like to correct my English, he/she never correct my English writing on Facebook. There's a group on Facebook for the house members. Sometimes we post something there. Mostly, when I read again my posting, I find out that I make a mistake in grammar. Then I just realize my secret English teacher didn't show off to correct my English. Until now, it's still a mystery.

Ough, what an experience!!! I Love My Life.

Memasak Pancake

Aku pun siap-siap memakannya.

Little Researches

During my stay in Jogja, I have at least done two little researches:

1. From my place to my campus, there are two options by motor bike. First, from UUI Ekonomi via gejayan trough Selokan Mataram. Second, from UUI Ekonomi trough Ringroad via Kaliurang street. Usually, I took the second option. But one of my friends mentioned that the first option is faster than the second one. As, it's less traffic. Then, I followed his saying. But later, I realized that it's not true. I calculated the duration those both options. The result is the second option is faster than the second one. On the second option, even it's more traffic but I could ride faster and not as slow as the first option. On the first option, passing Selokan Mataram, as it's a small road, we should at least not that fast as on the big road. So, it makes us slow like a snail. Then, the second option is better.

2. Flushing the toilet on the base floor of my renting house. I was annoyed as my housemates didn't flush it properly. The automatic flush doesn't work so we need to pour water with a bucket from "Bak Mandi" Sometimes, I saw shit in the morning (yesterday again) when I wanted to take a shower. That was so annoying! But then, it made me curious why it could happened while I believe they have flushed it. Then, I made an experiment. First, I flushed 5x bucket water. It looks clean but then actually it was still there. It wasn't flushed properly. Second, I flushed 7-8x bucket water, but it's not that enough. The last, I flushed 10x bucket water. I waited, then it was flushed properly. So, the conclusion is my housemates who didn't flush it properly, she/he just flushed 5x bucket water. It could be too that they thought 5-8x buckets water are enough, and it's just already much. But, they forgot that it didn't make the toilet clean yet.

But then I'm still curious (click to read the answer) with one thing: Why are most my housemates messy and don't clean the house or neat their room? (It's not my business but I am still curious) Are they indeed like that when they come back to their country. Or they are just like that bcoz they stay in the third world country like Indonesia, which I don't deny that lots places are not clean and lot of people throw the rubbish away to the river or to the sea?

Some people I know mentioned: Bule is (jorok) shabby! Why do you like to rent a house with them? I just smiled. I said that actually it wasn't really like that. And I believe actually they are not like that. Maybe they are just students who are just having fun in the cheapy country like Indonesia. And perhaps if they come back again to their country, they won't be a messy person as their environment asks them to be neat.
I believe cleanliness is related with education, wealthy, and age. Most Indonesian people who are not aware with cleanliness b'coz most of them are uneducated and poor people. For example, the slum area in Jakarta, most of people along in the river bank, they throw their rubbish away to the river. But if I talk about my housemates, then I have no idea but age. Educated? They are educated. Wealthy? They are not that poor. Well, I have no more idea then ehehehe....

A Sun in Winter

The happiest moment for me in winter is: When there's a sun. Why? Not because of me with the sun itself, but I'm happy when people are so enthusiastic talking about it. "Mooi weer.", "Lekker, eh?", "Het is lekker!" Seeing them happy, with smile. Their faces look so innocent. Brighter than before. I just love to see that. That moment is just amazing. Simple!

A diamond in winter is when there's a sun.

Shouting is A Violence

Today one of my girl friends in my Airsoft Gun club was angry at me by shouting at me in public in the event of Youthfest after I answered, "I've told you that the flyer is empty." She didn't accept what I said. Then I saw that:
  • Being old is a must, being wise a choice. Ought to, she could control her anger. She is too old to behave like that. In other hand, I understood that perhaps she was too exhausted as she had been working since 12pm till that tragedy happened around 8-9pm.
  • Shouting in public is not pretty.
  • Shouting in public is not elegant.
Then, what I learn from that case:
  • I almost shouted back at her, but I realize that Peace and Conflict Resolution Program which I'm studying now doesn't teach me to do so. In other hand, I could exercise my skill controlling my anger and behaving in elegant way.
  • Conflict manager or peace maker should be like Gandi. So, "I shouldn't be in anger easily."
  • Shouting is A Violence.

Lets find your inner peace....

Conferment For My Mom

Today I present that my beloved mom as a bad photographer. She always makes blurt pictures. No matter what! Just like this noon, I had asked her to take a picture of me and Aisha before we went to mosque near our house. The result was some blurt pictures hehehe...

I love you, Mom!

Sebuah Cela Tak Terhina

Mungkin dia terlihat biasa saja. Atau malah tak berarti. Tapi ntah mengapa aku menyukainya. Dia apa adanya.

Learning Indonesian? So Sweet...

I just changed my profile on My Language Exchange. Firstly, I look for friends who can teach me German but now it's changed. I'm looking for someone who can correct my English as at the moment, I'm studying English to prepare IELTS test which taken on the 25th June. Then, I searched someone whose English is native language and in the same time, they are learning Indonesian. I searched people in England who would like to learn Indonesian. One profile stole my attention. His name is Nicholas Sanders. According to his profile without picture, this 46 years old guy from London is willing to learn Indonesian with a cute reason. He wrote, "well i have an indonisian fiancee and will be coming there to ask her father permission to marry her and want to do this in his own language".

Is it cute, isn't it? Hope he is success with his effort.

Aku aja ingin nangis ketika aku terjebak macet selama 6 jam senin lalu 25 Oktober 2010.

Disaster on 10-10-2010

Well, Okey. Date 10, Month 10, year 2010. 10 October 2010 sounds as a beautiful day ever in 2010. So many couples really love to get married on that day. In Indonesia itself, covered by the media such as Antara said many couples got married till the Priest can't handle it, the make-up stylist refused to give her service as she already got so many clients already. There are still many of them with the same story.
On that day in the morning, I was busy with my own mind about German test which I wanna take on the 15th October. I even didn't realize that it was 10 October 2010, the beautiful day, till I heard from a local radio here in Banyuwangi who mentioned about the lucky day, the secred day of 10 October 2010. "Ah ja, it's 10 October 2010.", I bumbled. Well, I also didn't remember till today about someone who wanna get married on that day too.
For some people, it's a good day, for me it was a disaster. Yup, I got flood in the evening around 8-9pm. I talked to myself, "Oh, right! It's the day which people think as a good day but for me as a bad day." It rained a lot whole day. The flood happened as the river which not far from my house can't receive the water debit anymore as there was a big tree blocked the dam. The river couldn't flow properly anymore. So, it was out of the river.
Lucky me, the water height is only till my enkle. Also, it came inside the house only less than one hour. But still of course after that we need to clean it about 3 hours on that evening continued the next day whole day long to clean it by hiring someone. Pfff...

The Other Side of "Jaranan" - "A Magic Powder"

Many parents who have a small kid, when there's a Jaranan performance, they will ask for their kids the face powder which used by the Jaran's Stylist who prettify the Jaranan dancers. Just like my niece on her forhead with the powder of Jaranan.

The purpose of the parents put it on their kid's (usually on forhead)is to prevent that the Spirit power will not come to them, annoying them, or taking their soul, during the Jaranan Performance.

The face powder itself has a spell from the Jaranan Priest to attract audiences to feel that the dancers are charming also the performance is great.

Zij Lezen Niet Zorgvuldig Om Jou Profiel

Waka waka eh eh...

Tulip

Yesterday, Yvonne and I bought a flower for decoration at home in the living room. We went to a bloemen winkel. There, Yvonne doubted which one we wanted b'coz all flowers are beautiful. Then, I told her to take a flower which I really thought it's nice. There's no leaf. The flower is also nice. The color is soft contains 2 pastel colors. It's also not expensive only about 3 euro.
This morning, almost midday, I woke up from my bed, went to down stair. I see the flower is still there. It reminds to last night: I just knew that flower is called tulip. I didn't realize that it is unless Yvonne told me. Stupid me!!!

I saw and touched tulip a real for the first time on 3rd February 2010 hehehe...
